I have to admit that I was surprised when my Valentine’s Day picture book became my best selling book.  It has sold well every year since it was first published.

As I’ve researched just why this book seems to be so popular, I became aware of the dearth of Valentine’s books with references to God and His word.  Clearly, there is a need for such books.

In light of that, I decided a sequel is in order.  So, next year at this time “God Sent Me a Valentine” will hopefully have been published.

The format will be the same - a rhyming story with Scripture references citing the New Living Translation.  I find this translation to be an easily understood, even by the youngest of children.

The message will be similar to “I Sent God a Valentine” - that God Himself is love, and the source of true love in our world.  I’m excited to start on this new venture and will keep you all updated.

As for “I Sent God a Valentine,” it’s still available on Amazon in time for this Valentine’s Day.  Personally, I like giving gifts that will last.  Plants win over cut flowers, books win out over candy, etc.  I feel this book fills the bill perfectly in regard to that criteria.  Books last in our hearts when they leave us with a message.

The message in both these books?  We are called to be loving and kind every day of the year - and God sets a beautiful example of that love for us.

Till next time …
